Uncle Julio`s Mexican Restaurant in Fort Wortd

I love going to this location, very nice ambiance and food is always nice. Generous portions for the cost. Our server was very nice and accommodating as we had to wait for our group so he served us with chips and salsa and asked for drink. I love their chocolate Piñatas for special occasions. We will go again.

The food was great! Even with the recent virus, they were well organized, and kept distance between parties, even on the patio. Our waiter and assisting staff were incredibly friendly. I had a shrimp meal (don't remember what it was called), and it was BOMB.

We stopped by Uncle Julios by I-35 on our way to Austin. Never been to the area, we expected Uncle Julio's to be a small family run restaurant. But this blew us away! Antique boho interior was soothing. I ordered veggie tacos, which is technically not on menu. Chef Jason personally came out and asked me how I would like to have it, and made me custom veggie tacos. Best tacos I have ever eaten 🙌!

I'll be honest, ratings and reviews had us hesitant to pick this place but so glad we did! Date nights with a 1yo can be hectic and, as past servers ourselves, we know what a mess a toddler can leave and we always feel badly for the chaos.. but our server Jessica was SO accommodating and kind - she even made our little a placemat w wax paper and tape. Thank you guys for making our experience a positive one! BTW those margs are STRONG! 🙂

Let’s just say the manager ‘Jason’ isn’t too friendly and should definitely seek another profession. Overall the food is always good, it’s just the service and management that is just absurd. I’ll never forgot the manager’s words to me:“ I can’t guarantee your order will be correct” like what?! You are the manager! It is your job to make sure every customer is satisfied or at least strive to achieve that goal!

The food was VERY good. There were 6 of us, we all got something different, and there were no complaints, only compliments. Our waiter was friendly, informative and patient with the older members of our party. Everyone we had contact with was super friendly. We did have to make reservations due to Covid, but we got there a bit early and we were seated right away. Three of us have a handicap and they were very accommodating. I have nothing but good things to say about Uncle Julio's :)

I just ordered a to go order from here for lunch and wow.... disgusting!!! What happened to this place? The enchiladas are a block of cheese cold and solidified with ZERO flavor, onion, or sauce. The beans are so dry you can’t eat them. The rice tastes like it sat in a pan overnight and got dry and crunchy. Queso is pure salt, and preservatives. Yuck. Gave it to the pit bull... 😡 $35 down the drain!!

45 min wait, to be seated at a table 1 foot away. To get a bowl of chips 14 min. My drink order was...5min after that. Great! This review started out at 1 star but the service bumped it up to 3 stars. Thank you to the staff at Uncle Julio's. I will be coming back let's see if we can make it to 5 stars.Follow up from the Owner +1 star - excellent customer service right there. =)

I've had worse, but not by much. First let's start with that $16 taco salad. Very little meat and no tortilla, and greasy. No one wants a greasy salad. Second the tacos, taco bell has better. The grease was so abundant it left a think layer on the plate, it was dripping from the taco. The rice, can we say the sahara desert is more moist than those flavorless grains. And last, the queso. I've had water thicker and cheese itz cheeser. Definitely not worth the $46 I wasted on this place. Oh the chips were decent so there's that.. I try to give local places a try and benefit of the doubt but for the price its should be 100% better.
